[New Purchase] Carven Paris Map Skirt

I was soooo disappointed when Carven's SS12 Map Print Skirt didn't fit properly. My only option was to buy the larger size and take it in, which I didn't want to do at the time as I don't like altering new (and expensive) pieces.

I've been thinking about that skirt ever since as I have a thing for vintage maps, so I was pleasantly surprised to discover the new Paris Map print available in a skirt, silk shirtblazer and dress in their SS13 collection.

After deliberating between the silk shirt and the skirt for over a week now, I decided on the skirt and then finally tracked it down in my size after discovering that it is popular and selling out fast!

You can find it online at my-wardrobe, Matches, Harvey Nicols, Farfetch and Cricket Boutique. There is also a longer version available at Browns. NHG x

[Outfit] Snow Day

I remember how excited I used to get at the sight of snow when I first moved to London...nowadays I am not such a fan. It could have something to do with ripping my jeans falling over on slippery concrete, and the hole that is in the front of my little car after a prang a few years ago...

Anyway I digress, here's what I wore for a long walk around my pretty neighbourhood! NHG x

Outfit details: COS chunky wool scarf, wool beret (old), Whistles wool coat (old), Hunter Original Gloss wellies in Raspberry (old colour).

2012 Fashion Purchase Review

The other night while lying in bed I decided to add up how much I'd spent on clothing/shoes in 2012, and then use this as a way of planning my 2013 wardrobe with precision.

As I shop online 95% of the time, adding everything up (and finding photos) was relatively easy. The only things I couldn't find were a few items from Topshop, Zara and a pair of sandals. The total cost of this was over £3000... That makes me feel a bit sick - especially when a lot of these purchases were impulse.

The main costs were from The Outnet which I try to avoid like the plague now (I spent £800 on the site in January 2012 alone). There is nothing worse than receiving an email with an amazing deal to cause an impulse purchase. Here's to better planning in 2013!

Do you plan and review your purchases or shop on an adhoc basis? NHG x
