I think I'm going to set up my own Twitter feed called 'Sh*t my boyfriend says'. Case in point: I walked into the bedroom wearing my Equipment polka-dot shirt for a girl date with fellow bloggers Briony, Anna and Sarah last Saturday when Mr Porter says, "How's in going 101 Dalmatians?"
Erm, scuse me?
It seems that men see fashion trends through different eyes. We see polka-dots, they see dalmatian print. Briony later told me that her boyfriend (also Australian - the worst kind for teasing) had said that her leather shorts made her look like a "leather couch". Hhhmmm.

ReplyDeletehaha this is such a funny post. When I wear my trench, my boyfriend calls me 'Columbo', my Tory Burch ballet flats are 'aztec shoes' and he threatened to break up with me when I first wore harem pants.

I wore a black and white stripy shirt that I bought in Paris, and wear with no comment in Paris. Out in London last month and some guy in a pub said I looked like a referee! Wore the top in Australia last week to no comment so thinking I probably won't be packing it into my London suitcase anymore haha

Ah, men! They would spend their lives in Crocs and Gap tees! (And some of them actually do..) :) I love the Equipment shirt on you, maybe there's just some clothes that are better worn on a girl date. Good excuse for a lot of saturdays of fun!

Ah yes, Australian boys and their teasing. My husband has passed this lovely talent on to our son, who has been criticing mine and his sister's outfits for years. I grudgingly admit Son does have rather a good eye.
