I recently got back from six days in Thailand where we attended a glorious wedding set on Sri Panwa estate at a Baba Beach Bar overlooking the sea. It-was-amazing.
It was also HOT. The day of the wedding was around 38c and 99% humidity. Most of the guys in attendance could wring the sweat out of their shirts but lucky for the girls, we can wear something a little cooler. I struggled to find a dress to wear to the wedding as London retailers don't really do 'high-summer' very well. Sorry, but they don't...there is no need for it.
I managed to finally find a Temperley Tia dress on The Outnet reduced from £795 to £159 in their recent clearance sale. The cotton/silk blend ended up being a blessing in disguise as there is nothing worse than sweat patches down a silk dress!
Most of my friends experience the same problem finding dresses for wedding - high summer or not. What is your formula for dressing for weddings? NHG x
Outfit details: Temperley Tia dress, The Outnet, Molten clutch, Mimco at House of Fraser and silver heels (4 yrs old) from an Australian footwear brand.

Yes, short dresses are a must in humid countries like Thailand (since Malaysia is exactly the same).
ReplyDeleteSo glad you had a great time in Thailand! It's one of my favourite countries to visit. I actually went there 3 times last year!
You look adorable.
ReplyDeleteThe dress is very pretty and the setting is amazing!
ReplyDeleteI don't even bother trying to buy summer clothes in the UK. There is no summer here! I normally spend the first day or 2 back in Aus (in Summer) shopping up a few weather appropriate clothes. They then go in the suitcase under the bed till the next trip home.
ReplyDelete(Lovely, lovely dress!)

I've realised that I have WAY too many summer clothes for London. I think I panic buy every now and then when I'm going to a warmer climate...!
DeleteWhat a backdrop and such a pretty dress, where are your accessories from please?!

I've just added them in! My clutch is by Mimco at House of Fraser and my heels are so old that I can't remember the brand (I bought them in Australia). NHG x
DeleteD that is such a lovely dress and you look so beautiful in it. I have never been to Thailand, one day I would love to go....
