NHG loves: Flat shoes

I clearly remember the point in my life when I switched to flat shoes - I was visiting my Chiropractor and he was telling me to give up my heels as it was aggravating my back issues (which were certainly aggravating me!). Since then I've switched to 95% flat shoes and 5% heels. I'm not saying that my Chiropractor necessarily endorse ballet flats - oh no. Most would have you in a pair of school shoe-esque Clarks if they had their way, but at least they don't hurt the way heels do after a long day.

I can't actually remember the last time I wore heels to work (no one in my team wears them either and we are all short), and even though I long to be one of "those girls" who can wear high heels all day long and look fabulous for it, I just can't do it.

Tell me, are you team 'flats' or 'heels' and what are your favourite brands for high heel comfort? NHG x

  1. Nice selection! My favourites are the Shoes of Prey leopard print flats.

I love flat shoes and my flat/heel ratio is very similiar to yours. However, don't ask me why, but one of this year resolution was to wear more heels. I even wrote a post about it: http://notjustaprettydress.blogspot.com/2011/06/high-higher.html

  2. I'm on both teams ;) but when going for flats I have to admit it's usually VERY casual (Converse-casual!) although I do really like flats! I just think I personally look better in heels.

The Miu Miu bejeweled flats are so cute though! x

  3. Definately flats, most of the time! I love APC and French Sole. I did love Bloch up until a few weeks ago when a the heel fell off one and I am having a terrible time trying to get them to refund/replace!

  4. I'm a heels girl at heart, but I'm sadly not one of those girls who can wear heels all day every day and have feet that don't seem to mind the abuse so it's a fairly 50/50 for me - a day of heels the a day of flats.

  5. I used to always wear heels for work, but I definitely prefer flats now. Love your Zara bow flats.

  6. You have the most beautiful collection of flats. At 6"0 I can't even wear heels, which is the saddest thing for me! I think women look so beautiful in a nice pair of heels...
My only hope of owning a pair is to marry a giant =/

  7. I am a flat fan all the way. I'm 1,75 meters so feel like I'm on stilts when wearing heels.

  8. I'm generally a flats girl but recently I bought the most comfortable pair of black court shoes with 5 inch heels from Marks and Spencer. I really could wear them all day. I think it's about how well made your heels are.

  9. I am similar to you - I used to live in heels (I'd even wear them to traipse all over my university campus back in the day), but my back is SO awful and twisted that I've had to give up the habit a bit. When I need to run around I'll wear flats, though if all I'm doing is cycling or sitting at my desk, heels it is (I keep practically an entire wardrobe of heels under my desk to change into when I arrive). That said, if I'm doing a fashion event, I'll arrive in a pair of heels and pretend I just run about in them still (while the sneaky flats rest in my bag for afterwards).

P.S. Can you remind me where the cute pink bow flats (next to your amazing Miu Mius) are from again?
